Fall in Love with Winter

Meet Sarasota’s adoptable dog of the week: 8 year old Winter. This handsome boy originally came to Animal Control when he was just a puppy.

The family that adopted him took him home but they were not your average dog lover. Instead of all the fun things people do with their new fur-edition, Winter was put out in a yard and never played with. They fed him, but he never met any other people or animals. Unfortunately, it was a pretty lonely existence and they weren’t very nice people.

After one year, those people returned him to ACC and he was completely terrified to the point where he huddled in his kennel and shook at all the scary sounds and things going on around the center. The great people there tried to give him as much time as he needed to overcome all his fear but after almost a year,
he didn’t get much better. Because he is such a nice dog (other than his fear factor) Satchel’s Last Resort agreed to take him in.

Winter is still scared, but not as much. He is very weary of new people, new animals and new
things. Sadly, he stays in his crate most of the time to peek out and watch what is going on. Winter is looking for someone with the time to continue to work on his confidence. His ideal home would be a quiet
place with a nice people who will help him learn how to be a dog again. Do you need a good dog to make you
feel safe? Then visit Satchel’s Last Resort and schedule an appointment to meet this great boy by emailing Comments@SatchelsLastResort.com or call Michelle at 941-924-5070.

Winter’s story is brought to you by Ace Pet Resort, a resort for vacationing animals to and from the Sarasota area!
