All creatures great and small will be welcomed to Unity Church’s Annual Pet Blessing. Now in its third year, the Blessing has expanded to include food, music, vendors and of course adoptable animals from local rescue groups. The event is held in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, who was born in 1181 in early October. Interestingly, St. Francis arranged for the first manger scene, which included animals in 1226.
Bring your dog, cat, bird, turtle or other pet love to Unity Church of an official blessing on Saturday from 10am to 3pm. The event will be held at 3023 Proctor Road in Sarasota.
