Sarasota, please meet Dawn, your adoptable dog of the week.
I was pleased to learn that we would finally meet the beautiful Chow I’ve seen and heard so much about. Dawn was an absolute sweetheart and it’s hard to imagine why after 6 months she’s still at the shelter. She was very loving and displayed some of her basic obedience training that the wonderful, patient staff at SCAS has been able to teach her during that time.
About Dawn: Dawn is a beautiful red and white Chow Chow/German Shepherd mix. She is spayed and up to date on all her shots. Her approximate age is 4 years old.
Dawn’s History: Dawn came to Sarasota County Animal Services back in November of 2011. Since then, she has had an ACL surgery on her left rear leg, as she had a torn cruciate ligament. Thankfully, Dawn has fully recovered and is ready for a long walk (she walks great on a leash).
Dawn’s Favorites: Dawn loves to be around people and most dogs but she is not a fan of cats. Dawn is also known as a “plopper.” Once she gets to know you, she’ll plop down right next to your and enjoy a peaceful afternoon.
Dawn’s Personality: Dawn is a very loyal pup and eager to please. She loves to be around human companions and is a very calm girl.
Considerations: Dawn does have a protective instinct but she’s easily corrected with a firm “No.”
For more information on Dawn, please contact Sarasota County Animal Services by calling 941-861-9500 or feel free to visit the shelter at the end of Bee Ridge Road, east of I-75 by Rothenbach Park. Remember: Adopt! Don’t shop!
Dawn’s story is brought to you by Ace Pet Resort, a resort for vacationing dogs and cats to and from the Sarasota area!
