Pittie Party!

After a long and gloomy week, the sun has finally come out to play on this beautiful Friday! And the sun isn’t the only one: meet Dirk and Tam, your adoptable dogs of the week.

First up, we met handsome Tam. He was a little unsure as to why he was brought to this strange room but that didn’t matter. He was ready to go, go, go! As you can see from his picture, he is a good-looking brown, red and white American Staffordshire Terrier mix.

Tam was very sweet and happy from the get-go. He is a neutered male and is approximately a year and nine months old. Tam has yet to meet a human he hasn’t liked yet. He also gets along perfectly with almost every canine he’s came in contact with but the staff is unsure about cats. Judging by his demeanor, he would probably do fine in a home with felines but a proper introduction would be best before adoption.

We’re told Tam loves to give big hugs and will do just about anything for a little love and attention. He sat perfectly on command and loves to be rewarded with a yummy treat or two.

Second up was mister Dirk. He is a 1 ½-2 year old Pit Bull Terrier mix. Upon meeting him, I couldn’t help but notice his big ears standing at attention. But that just adds to the charm of his playful personality.  Dirk is a neutered male who is highly intelligent and eager to learn new things. He would excel greatly in an obedience class or a fly-ball run if given the chance.

Since Dirk is still a young chap, he would do best in a home with a family or individual with an active lifestyle. Dirk has quite the energy capacity that can be tamed after a little fetch action in the backyard or dog park. One of Dirk’s favorite things is playing ball. He thoroughly enjoys long walks and does well on a harness and leash.

Dirk is up to date on all of his shots and housebroken. We’re told he gets along well with other female dogs at the shelter but unsure about cats.
