Here at Sarasota Dog, the sun rises and falls around the canines. And we have a soft spot in our hearts for the homeless, adoptable dogs of our city. Check out two new deserving pups looking for warm spot in your home. First up is Kimber.
Kimber here is the sibling of Winchester, you may remember him from a couple weeks ago. Both Winchester and Kimber went home together after a successful outing at the Farmer’s Market but Kimber proved to be a little more than this family could handle so sadly she’s back at the shelter.
She is a spayed Redbone Coonhound female. The staff believes she is around 3 years old and despite her brief time away, Kimber has been at the shelter for about a month now. She would greatly benefit from some obedience training. She is a big sweetheart but can be a bit stubborn. The ideal home for her would be a patient family that would be willing to work on her manners, which should work effectively with treats and positive reinforcement.
Next up is the pint-sized Tequila. She’s a brown and white smooth-coated Chihuahua. Tequila is also about 3 years old and has been at the shelter for a couple weeks now and is one of the smallest pups residing at SCAS.
Miss Tequila is a warm little girl but scares easily. She would make the perfect lap dog in a quiet home without children. Being slow and gentle is a must, as you’ll have to gain this petite girl’s trust. Tequila found comfort being in Kristen’s arms, as we were mere strangers with a flashing light. Once she is comfortable in her own space, we’re sure she’ll brighten up and become a very happy little gal.
