Tomorrow, August 18th has been designated as International Homeless Animals’ Day. Celebrate the day with your rescued pooch or head down to Sarasota County Animal Services and adopt a new furry family member to commemorate the day. Check out two of SCAS’ current residents: Kiki and Spencer.
Kiki here is a fun, black and brown brindle Bull Terrier mix. We’ve been told that this beauty is a smart and sassy SRQ girl that wants to be an alpha dog. The staff believes she’s around 4 years old and has been patiently awaiting her forever home at the shelter since late November of last year.
We’re boggled why this sweetheart has been looked over. She’s learning basic obedience commands with the volunteers at the shelter and knows the sit command perfectly. The ideal home for Kiki would be one without cats. She can be particular about other dogs sometimes so like all new adoptions, Kiki will need a proper introduction with existing pup residents in your home. She would be great in a family environment, as she is good with kids. Won’t you come scoop up this lovely lady? She’s eager to learn and listens very well.
Next up is Mister Spencer here. This cutie pa-tootie is just 10 months old and has been a resident at the shelter for almost a month now. Spencer is a handsome red and white Pointer and American Foxhound mix.
A neutered male, Spencer is pretty laid back. He is a total love bug and complete mush. For the most part, he is a very happy-go-lucky boy that is full of life. Spencer would excel greatly in basic training and gentlemanly manners quickly if given the chance.
