Jeff Schmitt started life surrounded by animals. His parents had so many pets in the house, he often felt that he was just another one in the litter. This early bond with companion animals planted a seed that would later blossom into a full-fledged business with profits to benefit animals.
Decades later with a little experience in the prepared foods business, Jeff had an idea in 2010 to create his own very special BBQ sauce. The brand, Dog Gone Sauce, has taken off, and we can attest to its awesome flavor. Our volatile economy has spurred countless entrepreneurs on to pursue their passions across the country. But here’s the twist that Jeff employed. When his personal economy was back on the upswing he felt the need to give back, so he started a program called Helping The Animals.
For rescue groups and shelters that have gift shops, Jeff will supply their first order of Dog Gone Sauce for free. When it is sold, the shelters keep 20% – and have the revenue to reorder. For 501 (c) 3 groups that do not have a brick and mortar facility, they can sell the sauce online through a traditional affiliate program and receive 20% of the profits that are sold through their site.
This is a win: win for everyone or what we like to call a wag: wag. And did we mention the sauce is velvety, tangy and over the top delicious? It is. Enjoy!
