Sarasota is just a little bit safer for dogs and cats today thanks to Cheryl Brady of VetCare Express. Eight members of the Sarasota Dog Meetup group successfully completed the American Red Cross’s Pet CPR and First Aid class presented Cheryl.
Brady, a former Veterinary Technician, Volunteer Firefighter and owner of the big red Animal Ambulance provided instruction on the basics of how to handle pet emergencies from trauma to heat stroke and ingestion of foreign bodies. These skills will help pet owners as they assess their pet’s condition en route to their veterinarian, or the emergency clinic.
Sarasota Dog Meetup members received hands-on training in the A-B-C’s of first aid, Airways, Breathing and Circulation. Working with canine repliica’s, techniques of rescue breathing, CPR and removal of obstructions in breathing were practiced.
If you have a dog or a cat, or are involved in the pet community with a pet-related business we highly recommend this informative class which help give you peace of mind, and just may save your dog’s life.
VetCare Express founded by Cheryl Brady in 2009 provides emergency – and routine transport for pets. For more information please visit their web site.
