Kicking off the initiative to end Greyhound Racing- a meeting will be held at Cat Depot tomorrow/Monday June 4th at 6:30. This effort has been years in the making, so now its all hands-on-deck to see it through to end this cruel practice by getting out the vote!. Please note! You must RSVP to attend!
Here are the details from the Organizers:
This November we will have an historic opportunity to help thousands of dogs. If citizens vote Yes on Amendment 13, commercial dog racing will be phased out by 2020. Today, we’re asking you to help kick off the campaign.
Right now, thousands of Greyhounds are bred annually—many more than are needed to race—in an attempt to create the fastest dogs.
These social dogs are forced to spend most of their time alone, confined in warehouse-style kennels with rows of double-stacked cages for 20 to 23 hours a day.
Many racing dogs suffer injuries while racing, and according to state records, a racing greyhound dies every three days on a Florida track.
Please, join us at a grassroots meeting near you to kick off the Protect Dogs—Yes on 13 campaign. Everyone who attends will receive campaign flyers, as well as information on how to effectively give the dogs a voice.
Please RSVP right away for this important and fun event! Well-behaved greyhounds are welcome to come too. To RSVP, click here and let them know you are coming.
