New Business Spotlight: Vet Care Express

The late 2000’s brought a world of change to our economy. Employees with 20+ years of tenure suddenly found themselves looking for work. Many of these people opted not to continue in their current career track but to seek a new path. Now you might find a hot dog stand that is being run by a former financial guru or a bike shop started by a woman who used to be a software developer.

Cheryl Brady was a successful corporate sales person. Her career outlook seemed somewhat secure but she felt unfulfilled. While considering her next steps – a phone call came in from a panicked friend. Her friend had hit a dog with a car. Cheryl raced to help her friend and the dog – but it was too late. This was Cheryl’s epiphany – and her new career track. Why not provide emergency transport for pets like we do for people?

17th Street Frolic – Saturday May 29, 2010

Between Honore and Beneva -4910 17th Street is a patch of land that is just for dogs. There’s an expansive lawn for running, jumping and playing ball. Several small covered pavillions dot the park, bags are supplied Fencing squares off an area for smaller dogs that seemed to be populated almost entirely by Shiba Inus when we were there. Picnic table and benches provide some basic 2 legged creature comforts. Lots of good fun, sniffing, licking and playing.
