A one-of-a-kind event, the 4th Annual Jingle Paws Jubilee, is planned for Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Payne Park in Sarasota.
This year more than 73% of pet owners will purchase a holiday gift for their pet, according to the ASPCA. Jingle Paws Jubilee provides shoppers the opportunity to peruse the wide variety of local options for their pet at the event with more than 80 vendors – handmade gourmet treats, clothes, awesome leashes, collars, and lots of toys. Gifts for all the pet lovers on your shopping list too!
If you are looking for a new four-legged companion, Jingle Paws Jubilee also will host more than 30 rescue groups with adorable, adoptable pets. From the feathered, the finned and the floppy-eared, all categories of pets will be represented. Cats and kittens will be featured inside, in our Kitty Pavillion at the event.
Planned as a true family event, face-painting for kids, raffles and an array of food, from gourmet sandwiches to traditional picnic fare, mexican food and pizza, will be offered. The Doggy Diva of WTMY AM, will conduct a Costume Contest featuring community residents’ pets dressed in their holiday best. Dogs will enjoy canine massage, free food samples and the chance to see the latest in fashion, toys and accessories.
Proceeds from the 50/50 drawing and raffle prizes will be distributed among the local animal groups in attendance. And by the way, we’ll be raffling off an iPad Mini!
On-site adoption counselors will be available to help potential pet parents select a pet that is right for their families.
Co-organizer Candace Botha, publisher of Sarasota Pet Magazine, noted, “For shelter pets, it’s imperative that they have exposure to the public in hopes of finding their forever homes. Jingle Paws Jubilee has been growing in popularity each year; it’s festive and has a real feeling of community. The event also offers our local businesses an opportunity to connect with local animal lovers in our community and showcase their goods and services, just in time for holiday shopping.”
“Participation in this event is always a pleasure, the holiday atmosphere with music and food with backdrop of downtown Sarasota – we are anticipating a record turnout. People love to come out for an afternoon with their dogs and this is an awesome opportunity for us to raise awareness for our local rescue groups that work so hard for the most needy animals in Sarasota,” adds SarasotaDog.com’s Mary Lou Davidson, who is also co-organizer.
Entertainment this year will feature traditional holiday classics by Sudie Brattli, Free-style Canine Dancing by The Dog Gone Dancers , Tricks by the Christmas Collies and all day DJ’ing by the Jingle Paws Jubilee emcee Victor Baut.
Don’t forget the Cat Depot Pawpurr’s Walk to help homeless pussycats in Sarasota – you can register here:
All attendees are asked to bring a bag or unopened pet food or treats or toys to donate to local animal groups as admission to the event. Local artisans and crafts people will offer unique dog-related accessories. Entertainment from The Group representing Diversity,
a DJ and other festive music will add to the holiday spirit throughout the day. Jingle Paws Jubilee is co-presented by ACE Pet Resort Sarasota Pet Magazine and SarasotaDog.com. For more information, please visit: JinglePawsJubilee
