Keeping your New Year’s commitment to workout? If you need a little extra motivation, consider this: Cross Fit Sarasota is offering a fitness challenge on January 15th at 9:00 am. The challenge is open to all levels, even Beginners and will rate your skills in several areas. Prizes will be awarded in separate divisions, so you will be competing with people at your approximate skill level. Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Sarasota County.
“We were looking for the right charitable organization to align with and the Humane Society was a perfect fit”, Matt Wilmoth of Crossfit told the Rover Reporter. Crossfit clientele is a diverse group of athletes, doctors and students committed to a healthy lifestyle.
The Humane Society’s Event Director, Ginny Armington told us “this is a first of its kind event. . .to partner with a fitness facility to benefit animals – we are excited to participate!” The Humane Society’s Mobile Adoption Van will be there with an Off-Site Adoption Counselor with animals that need loving homes. All adoptions are subject to application approval. If you have a dog and are looking to adopt another, you should bring your own dog to meet your potential new family member.
CrossFit Sarasota is located at 6321 Porter Road, East of I75. For more information contact Matt at 941-223-3674,
