Fear to Freedom – Humane Muzzle Training Explained

Deanna Ashworth, a Certified Dog Trainer walks us through humane muzzle training.   If you have a reactive dog – or even just a dog that may be unpredictable – muzzle training maybe your answer.

As your pet’s guardian, it’s incumbent on you to ensure your dog’s safety, and the safety of those around you both human and canine.

Beyond that, a muzzle can provide you with the confidence to take your dog with you, on walks, to the park or even out for coffee.  Isn’t that what you envisioned dog ownership to be like when you got your pup?

Deanna is full of helpful tips to help you experience life fully with your dog, how to get started and make muzzle training fun.

She knows of what she speaks as the Trainer for Satchel’s Last Resort, Muzzle Outreach Program, designed to keep dogs off the surrender list and in their family home.

Check out our video podcast here:

Deanna recommends:   The T-Touch Harness to work with your dog – and a wonderful book, Beyond Belly Rubs: The Compassionate Pet Guardian, both are available on Amazon. And, the Baskerville Muzzle at BaskervilleMuzzle.com.

About Satchel’s Last Resort

Satchel’s Last Resort is a no-kill animal shelter/sanctuary whose mission is to Rescue, Rehab and Rehome dogs and cats with nowhere else to go because of breed, behavior or medical issues. We are housed on 12 acres – two large play yards in the front of the building and a large area behind our building where volunteers can walk the dogs.
