This blind pit bull, Balou has been saved from life on a chain and is now hoping to make his way to Pennsylvania. A family there has committed to adopting Balou and making him part of their family.
But Balou will be working too, in conjunction with the Modified K9 PitBull Rescue Group to teach kids about dog breeds.
A series of unfortunate events created a family crisis which resulted in Balou being handed off to a relative. In his new home, the family was coping with special needs children who were not prepared to have a dog. Balou bore the brunt of the stress and spent all of his time with a padlocked chain on his neck.
Transport to his new spot will be expensive and his rescuer DJ Drager needs support to raise funds to cover costs. The trip will run about $1200, and so far about half of the money has been raised for airfare, vet check, hotel and other costs.
