There’s a great article in the St. Pete Times October 12, 2009 edition by Linda Wilson Fuoco. She writes about pet toys, accessories and pets that are loaded with toxins – like LEAD! Particularly tennis balls that are made just for dogs.
You see there is no federal agency that regulates the components of pet toys. There is however a great web site – www.healthystuff.org, where you can look up your pet toys or beds and see the level of toxicity in the products. If you know your product name, you can enter it into the search path, if you want to peruse the pet category – just select it from the drop down menu. Check it out and shop wisely!
