Sarasota Dog sat down with Meryl Conte Clayton to talk about Pet Trusts, here’s what we learned. Just click on the arrow to play.
Our pets are important members of our family. We worry what will happen to them if we can no longer care for them or become are not able to provide for them. We want to ensure that they will be cared for in the same warm and loving environment for the remainder of their lives.
The only way to really be sure that this will happen is to prepare a pet trust – or a clause in your will in which you have appointed a caregiver for your pet, set aside a sum of money to provide for your pet’s veterinarian bills, food, shelter, grooming, and other expenses, and provide for your pet’s final disposition. Sarasota Dog talked with Meryl Conte Clayton – a Sarasota Attorney, and dog lover for the low down on this essential component long term plan.
