If you haven’t already checked out the Sarasotadog.com calendar, you’ll find it on the top of the home page. It’s important to check back every now and then as we are always updating, and events sometimes crop up at the last moment. We’ve chosen a few of our favorites for the month of September.
September 15th Wednesday 9am – Sarasota County Commissioners meeting to ban the chaining of dogs. DogsDeserveBetter.com needs your support at this meeting to prevent people from permanently tethering their dogs. SarasotaDog.com supports this cause and hopes you’ll join us in fighting this inhumane treatment by attending the meeting. The Commissioners Building is at 1660 Ringling Boulevard.
September 26th Sunday from 2-6 pm Blessing of the Animals at Unity Church, Bring your dog to get his blessing on, talk to vendors in the pet world, enjoy food, drink, raffles and giveaways. Rescue groups will have adorable, adoptable dogs on hand that they can match with your family. This event is in a beautiful setting at 3023 Proctor Road, between Swift and Lockwood Ridge.
