This past weekend, September 18 & 19, the Sarasota Obedience Training Club (SOTC) kicked off the Fall-Winter Agility Season. Dogs came from all over Florida to attend . Many new dogs were entered this yeas as compared to previous years – indicating a rising interest in canine agility. Dogs were running, jumping and weaving from 8am to 6pm at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto in well run and well attended trial.
Held under the aegis of the American Kennel Club (AKC), purebreed and mix-breed dogs ran to have fun and those who excelled received quailifying and placement ribbons. There was one Master Agility Championship (MACH) title awarded to Victoria MacVicar and her Brittany Spaniel – MACH2 Kiri – daughter of MACH5 Kaze.
SOTC has been serving the Sarasota area canine community for 45 years and has been involved in agility for almost 20 years.
