The forecast is for sunny skies and there’s a great weekend line-up in store for dog lovers. Tonight, The Humane Society of Sarasota County is hosting the Smooches for Pooches Stroll.
From 5-8 along Hillview and Osprey, local merchants will come out to meet the community and support the community. This is a great way to get to know this neighborhood. Did you know that WoofGang Bakery has a store there?
Saturday of course is the Sarasota Farmer’s Market but this week, downtown will be abuzz since Natural Awakenings Magazine will be holding its annual ECOFEST event. Local and national earth friendly companies will be on hand to showcase their ideas for a greener lifestyle.
If you’re looking for ways to cut down on your carbon footprint, or to learn about natural ways to landscape or even a pet-friendly exterminator ECOFEST is the place to be. From 8am to 4pm adjacent to the Farmer’s Market.
Oh! and while you are downtown, stop by the Wet Noses booth at the Farmer’s Market, Candace Botha from Sarasota Pet Magazine will be there with her new community cookbook, For the Love of Animals.
Botha collected recipes from community members over a six month period to compile a wonderful representation of local flavor. The best part? Proceeds will benefit local rescue groups and shelters. Nice to have, and it makes a great gift for your animal loving friends.
If you are attending any of these events, make sure you bring your sunscreen – and of course that you are prepared with water for your pup and your eco-friendly bags.
Enjoy, the SarasotaDog team is looking forward to seeing you!
