Happy Anniversary to Heidi’s Hounds!

Heidi’s Hounds radio program on 106.5 WCTQ, celebrated its first anniversary just recently and was recognized with a ranking in a local award ceremony.

It was the dream and misson of  K9 Korral’s Mark Shambour to search out a radio station and sponsor a program dedicated to rescue organizations and to showcase adoptable dogs.  When Mark met Heidi Decker of 106.5 CTQ (Clear Channel) just about one year ago it was the start of something great.

Who knew they would be able to help so many rescue organizations in raising awareness for shelter dogs?  Each week Heidi’s Hounds features a different 501 (c) 3 rescue organization and their adoptable dog.  Being featured as Rescue of the Week gives the organization a radio interview, and Internet linking on WCTQ’s web site with Heidi’s Hounds own web page.

The organizations stay up on the ‘CTQ web site and a potential adoptor can scroll down to all of the rescues featured thus far and click to the linked website to see more dogs available for adoption.  DJ Heidi Decker was primed for the sponsorship and already had the most fitting name ” Heidi’s Hounds”

The K9 Korral offers new pet parents a free post-adoption session for those that adopt a dog from a local non-profit rescue organization or county animal services.  It helps to get the dog and family ready for the new venture ahead.

The K9 Korral and WCTQ 106.5’s Heidi have formed a special relationship with the local rescue groups.  The common goal being “TO FIND FOREVER HOME FOR THE DOGS”.

Happy Anniversary Heidi’s Hounds!   Thanks Heidi Decker and Mark Shambour for all that you do for our dog community.
