The Sarasota Dog Meetup can help too. This is like a social club for people with dogs. With more than 500 members, from petite pups to larger dogs we get together a couple of times a month for dinners out, holiday parties and Wag and Learn sessions and some off-leash play. Here’s a picture of some of us at our Puppy Portrait class, which was a blast! 
You’ll find like-minded “dog-people” who are friendly and interested in socializing their dogs in Sarasota.
