Dr. Wendy Ying of 5 Elements for Animals will give an informal talk about Acupuncture this Sunday, March 13th at Bayside Pet Resort in Osprey at 1:30 pm.
Acupuncture for animals and people has been practiced in China for thousands of years for wellness and to treat illness and injury. In the US, we are familiar with the use of acupuncture for muscle and joint pain but it is also helpful for neurologic problems, organ dysfunction, dermatitis and behavior problems. Acupuncture can be performed with dry needles, needles with electrical stimulation, aqua puncture and for those pups who are needle phobic, we have pain free laser acupuncture.
Acupuncture is just one of the modalities we use to keep your pet healthy and works in conjunction with modern veterinary medicine. Acupuncture is frequently used with chemotherapy to control nausea and restore energy in cancer patients and after orthopedic procedures during rehabilitation to help speed recovery.
