Spreading the word and raising awareness via the Internet,clicking to donate, sharing events and all of the other digital options have changed the way we give.
Earlier this month we met two small citizens who wanted to give back to their local police department. Specifically to the K-9 unit, dogs who have been trained to serve and protect.
These two knew, that although these dogs are highly skilled officers of the law that …
really at their core, they are still dogs.
So for the last two December’s, they have asked for toys and treats for the working dogs of Sarasota County Police Department.
The actual event was held at WoofGang Bakery. Officers both two legged and four legged were in attendance. What was really nice is that there were nearly 100 attendees, drawn in my electronic media, friends and neighbors. A cordial environment to meet and greet and pay tribute to the officers.
It was one of the highlights of the holiday season for me, and I hope it inspires you too. We can all do something for someone.
