Do you have a fenced yard?

If the answer is yes, then lucky you and more importantly, lucky for your dog!

A safely contained yard allows your dog to roam around and experience a sense of freedom.   But it also means that – there are most likely times when going out to check for poops is just not on the agenda.

Let’s get into that – did you know that just in Sarasota County there are 12 tons of poop generated every day?  That is 4380 tons per year.  Estimates are that 40% of people do NOT pick up. In Florida with what can be very heavy rains – that can mean all that poop is running down into our grounds, into our water treatment and could end up in our gorgeous waterways. The net: net is that roughly 2600 tons are going into our water ways every year.

“It is important to pick up your pet waste because it leaches nutrients and bad bacteria into our water ways and contributes to our problem” says Abbey T. from Suncoast Waterkeeper.

There’s a new business serving Sarasota residents that can help combat this problem. Doody Calls offers residential services on a scheduled that meets your needs. Owner, Kara Kelsey told us, “I’ve always loved animals! I grew up with dogs and understand what a positive impact they have on on their owners. When we decided to open DoodyCalls, I knew that I wanted to focus on helping busy people be able to enjoy their yards and their furry friends – while having peace of mind that they were also doing their part to protect our ecosystem.  As a single mom, I totally understand how busy life gets!”

DoodyCalls Residential Services are available on a custom basis – so that you can create a “scoop – schedule” that fits your needs.  They also offer Community Services to include Pet Waste Stations Sales & Installation, Pet Waste Bags, Pet Waste Station Service, and Common Area Cleanings. For more information call or write, you can meet with Kara and  get back to enjoying your outdoor space without worry and focus on playing with your pup!
