Dogs Deserve Better is a national organization fighting to prevent the permanent chaining of dogs. Working here now in Florida, the group has been able to pass the ordinance in both Lee and Collier Counties. Now their sites are set on making Sarasota County a place where chaining dogs would be illegal. SarasotaDog received this request for help.

The Sarasota Commissioners will advertise and then open a session for public comment on Sept 15 regarding the adoption of the ordinance to ban permanent tethering of dogs. We need pictures to help document this inhumane treatment.
Do you know of an area where dogs are kept chained or penned?
Pictures to document chained dogs in Sarasota County are needed for this public comment period. If you know of anyone who is familiar with areas where dogs are kept chained or penned and would be willing to take a few pictures it would be really helpful.
