Scouting out the Weekend August 27th and 28th

Looks like we’ll be getting a pass from Irene, as the storm heads up the Eastern Seaboard. Lots of fun things this weekend to do with your dog in Sarasota!

On Saturday
The Sarasota Farmer’s Market is a fun place to start the day. The open air market on Lemon Avenue offers artisanal cheeses, olive oils and cool retro finds along with locally grown fruites and vegetables. Dogs are uber welcome at the market with their own special vendor, Wet Noses of St. Armand’s Circle. The Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday from 7am to Noon on N. Lemon Avenue At Main Street.

On Sunday, The Sarasota Dog meetup group will be heading to Brohard Park, the dog beach in Venice. Come and join us for a romp in the sand! Even if your dog is not a water dog. . .it’s still a fun outing. As a Paw Park, Brohard permits dogs to be off-leash and free. You’ll want to bring water for you and your pup and probably a towel or a chair.

After our beach time, we’ll be heading over to the dog-friendly Saltwater Cafe for a bite to eat about noon. Want to join us? Just visit Meetup.com and join, its easy and free. We’ll be at the beach at 11:00, look for the yellow dog balloon! Brohard Paw Park is on Harbor Drive, just south of Sharky’s Restaurant.
