Organized by Joe Navarro, The Gulf Gate Open blazed a trail through the south county area with a series of scheduled stops at bars and taverns. Drink specials were offered to the revelers and loyal supporters of the HSSC.
What a great way to get together with friends and support your local shelter. Navarro said “We are planning to do this a couple of times each year. Our goal is to give the Humane Society as much as we can”. On Friday, The Open was competing with NFL play-off’s and the weather was not exactly conducive to pub crawling. Still more than 40 people turned up for the event.
A costume contest awarded prizes for the most creative golf outfits. Navarro himself won the contest in his plaid wool kilt. It wasn’t hard to see why.
Congratulations to Joe and his crew for dedicating the time to plan this fun event. For the full gallery of images, see below.[nggallery id=56]
