The World’s Best Leash

You know how technology is revolutionizing everything from cooking to communicating and suddenly designers are making sensible changes to things like a spot for your handbag in the car?     Finally, some of those really smart people from the world of design focused on something uber practical that we all need:  dog leashes.

Their resulting product is nothing short of amazing.  The Ruff Leash by Zee-Dog is far and away the best leash we’ve ever put our hands on.

What is so great about this leash?  It’s all about functionality.  The people behind Zee-Dog are from the fashion world and have ingeniously employed an engineering savvy that takes the pressure off your body and makes dog walking fun again.  Here are a few of the features:

  • The handle is padded and extra strong, but has a neat little neoprene (read as soft, soft) button where you place your thumb as you are leading your dog.  Instead of pulling your dog, it’s more like steering.
  • About 12 inches down from the handle, the leash is threaded through a rubbery plastic zig zag piece that acts like a shock absorber and totally assists with control.  The zigzag form is actually kind of springy.  So if you have a big dog, a strong dog, or  you are training a dog – the chances that you will hurt your arm or shoulder or worse yet yank at the dogs neck – are greatly reduced.
  • The carabiner which is that hook that goes from the leash to the collar or harness is just a little bit oversized so making the connection is simple and really feels like one touch.

So where can you find the Ruff Leash by Zee-Dog?  Right here.

The idea for the Ruff Leash started when co-founder Thadeu Diz saw his girlfriend struggling to walk his own dog.  He knew if she was going to participate in walking duties something had to give.  Teaming up with his brother Felipe and Rodrigo Montiero,  Zee Dog was born.    While the Brazilian company is now hoping to crack the US market, its not only for the sake  of profits.  They hope to help increase awareness for shelter dogs and the joy of adoption.   They’ll do this through their social networks, like on Instagram #All4Adoption and  by partnering with other major brands to create unique, highly usable products in the sympatico style of their design sense – and then donate profits from those products to nonprofit organizations in the world of animal rescue.

Recently Zee Dog worked with a Brazilian shelter group, Ampara Animal  by selling these Santa Lolly Designs.

More than $25,000 of needed funding was donated to the shelter to help with mounting costs.  Welcome Zee-Dog makers of the World’s Best Leash to the US market!
